  • Workers' Comp Experience: $65,000–$75,000/year
  • Litigation Experience: $55,000–$65,000/year
  • Medical Claims Experience: $45,000–$55,000/year

Job Description:

The Claims Adjuster will manage workers’ compensation claims from start to resolution, performing investigations, coordinating with various stakeholders, and ensuring timely and accurate handling of all aspects of each case. The role is essential to delivering quality claims outcomes and ensuring compliance with state regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct prompt investigations by communicating with employers, medical providers, and claimants
  • Take and review recorded statements and witness reports as needed
  • Request, review, and analyze medical records to identify relevant history or pre-existing conditions
  • Schedule and define the scope of independent medical evaluations (IME)
  • Issue benefit decisions and denial letters based on claim findings
  • Initiate and track subrogation opportunities and manage reimbursement requests
  • Maintain reserves and update them as the claim status evolves
  • Coordinate with defense counsel if claims become litigated
  • Monitor return-to-work plans and assist employers in making accommodations
  • Track and document all case activity in the claims system, including court dates and medical appointments
  • Present claims summaries and settlement proposals for internal and client approvals
  • Ensure timely and accurate payment of medical bills and other expenses
  • Provide reports to excess carriers when required
  • Participate in client meetings and internal claims reviews
  • Perform other duties related to claim handling as needed

Qualifications:

  • Experience handling workers’ compensation, litigation, or medical claims
  • Oklahoma Workers’ Compensation Adjuster License required (or willing to obtain)
  • Familiarity with insurance regulations and claims systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and decision-making abilities
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage a fast-paced, high-volume caseload
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team of adjusters and supervisors
  • Spanish language skills a plus, but not required

Additional Details:

  • Full-time, on-site role in Oklahoma City
  • Must be able to sit at a desk for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 15 lbs
  • Must maintain required continuing education hours as per state guidelines
