Who you are:

ConXtech is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Project Management Professional who is enthusiastic  about managing and being the single point of contact for assigned ConXtech projects that consist of structural steel modular building frames. You enjoy being responsible for the entire project from design development to final project closeout. You are focused on goals that include completing projects safely, on schedule and on budget with ConXtech’s required level of quality and customer satisfaction. 

You have:
  • Proficient Project Management skills used in the development and execution of Structural Steel  Projects located at a variety of client venues.
  • A Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Structural Steel or Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the structural steel construction industry, including 5 years’ experience as a Project Manager.
  • An understanding of commercial construction processes.
  • An understanding of commercial construction contracts; both between Supplier and General Contractor / Owner, and between Supplier and Supplier’s Subcontractors.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with hands-on field experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively function as a team leader.
  • Leadership abilities with qualities required to effectively manage a variety of direct / indirect reports.
  • Ability and self-confidence to make key decisions, with the self-awareness to consult guidance when needed.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a goal for improving project margins.
  • Knowledgeable in modeling and detailing experience with Tekla Structures (preferably v2019i &  v2024).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Microsoft Teams (remote working).
  • Competence in the following software tools:
    • Procore (construction Admin - document control)
    • Sage (accounting data)
    • Revit, Tekla, AutoCAD and SketchUp
    • BlueBeam Revu
  • Experience with scheduling software, e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera, et al.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
What you’ll be doing:
As a Sr. Project Manager for ConXtech, you’ll:
  • Manage all aspects of day-to-day structural steel projects, while also monitoring and coordinating the work of subcontractors performing modeling, detailing, engineering, fabrication, vendor supplies, and other project requirements.
  • Coordinate design and pre-construction services, i.e., estimating, scheduling, project planning, constructability, site utilization, etc., with the sales and pre-construction groups.
  • Review Prime Contracts and sub-contracts for compliance and ensure contract and subcontract alignment.
  • Lead, facilitate, and negotiate change orders.
  • Track all project potential orders and change orders.
  • Manage and facilitate the collaborative design and integration of the ConXtech system with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and other sub-trades, ensuring adequate and efficient interface.
  • Oversee assigned Project Engineer/s to ensure that all necessary information to design engineers, modelers, and detailers is provided to support proper design, fabrication, and installation of ConXtech projects.
  • Provide necessary management and coordination for permit and entitlement processes.
  • Prepare overall project planning, including identification of master design development schedule along with construction schedule.
  • Evaluate project progress and construction practices to ensure budgetary and company goals are achieved.
  • Review and interpret proposed designs, details, and building specifications for appropriateness to required function standard and initiate revisions where appropriate; advise clients as to how to best achieve the required results.
  • Authorize the issuance of contracts, purchase orders, and change orders and approve subcontractor invoices for payment.
  • Research and prepare reports pertaining to cost, policies, procedures, and other issues, as appropriate.
  • Keep upper management informed of project progress and issues, particularly as to needed changes in scope, schedule, cost, resources, and product.
  • Facilitate monthly billing and required payment applications to ensure timely and accurate general contractor payments.
  • Coordinate with detailing, purchasing, fabrication, and construction for timely, onbudget, and accurate execution of our scope of work.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Where you’ll be working:

You’ll be working remotely from home with occasional onsite visits as needed to jobsites and to our company headquarters in Pleasanton, CA. There are restrictions to this opportunity and therefore we are looking for candidates in the following states: CA, CO, PA, TX, or WA.
